What is an Implant?

Please allow us to fill in the gaps.

Post

Placed by one of our trained dentists, an implant is a biocompatible post that mimics your tooth root. It is inserted into your jawbone to create a solid foundation for your restoration.

Abutment

This small element connects, supports, and secures your new restoration to your implant post. It creates a strong connection to prevent any slippage or movement.

Preparation

If you are a suitable candidate for dental implants, our Everett dentists will use a CBCT scanner to capture 3D images of your face and mouth. This modern scanner creates a comprehensive and detailed view of your mouth’s structures, allowing our experts to plan your implant’s exact insertion points, thus producing more predictable outcomes.

Creation

Our doctors will use digital impressions to accurately design your implant so it best suit your needs and facial features. Our partner dental lab will use this information to create your implant. Once ready, we’ll evaluate the fit and prepare your ideal cosmetic restoration.

Placement

During this process, Dr. Ryan or Dr. Megan will insert the implant into your jawbone. Your implant will need six to twelve weeks to heal and fuse with the bone. Then, we’ll place the abutment to act as an anchor for your new restoration and connect your crown, bridge, or dentures to the implant.
